Today, CSR is one of the Top 3 priorities for buyers when it comes to building, developing or measuring the performance of their purchasing policy for business travel-related services.
All studies agree on this point. For example, the annual report by the GBTA (Global Business Travel Association) on the state of climate protection actions taken by 900 business travel players worldwide shows that 92% of them make climate protection a priority!

The study, published on June 13, 2023, also reveals another particularly encouraging figure, which argues in favor of high-performance reporting solutions such as H-Carbon: 65% of buyers surveyed want harmonized standards via the accounting and reporting of CO² emissions.
This is fully in line with the approach taken by BT4 Europe, a European association of 13 travel management professional associations, to the European Commission, calling for a standardized calculation standard for greenhouse gases by players in the business travel industry.
With this in mind, Hcorpo’s R&D teams have developed H-Carbon. This new feature, available in monthly reports, helps user companies, both private and public, to quantify the emissions generated by their employees’ hotel stays.

“Our technology takes into account various factors
such as energy consumption, water consumption and carbon emissions for thousands of hotels around the world. Using actual data provided by the industry’s global benchmark index, our teams are able to deliver a robust estimate of the carbon footprint of all hotel room nights.”
Salomé Mogier, CCO Hcorpo
“The climate challenge is one of the main thrusts of Banque de France’s strategy.
The institution is actively committed to achieving carbon neutrality. Its travel policy has thus evolved to direct business travel towards less polluting modes of transport, encouraging staff to give priority to public or eco-mobile transport and train journeys. Hcorpo’s reporting includes the emissions generated for each hotel occupied and booked online (carbon footprint per kg of CO2), which completes the quantification of emissions already carried out by the Banque de France for its business travel. This data is invaluable, as it is proactive.”

H-Carbon is not just a measurement tool. It also enables Hcorpo customers to complete their declaration of Scope 3 emissions offsetting (as defined by the GHG Protocol) as part of their GHG balance sheet.
More broadly, H-Carbon is part of a value proposition that Hcorpo teams are constantly developing, to help companies achieve their CSR objectives.
True to its philosophy of co-construction in collaboration with each of its customers, Hcorpo is positioned as a true partner and player in driving change on the subject of responsible purchasing.
